Charles LUDOLPH is a lobbyist specializing in supporting companies in their engagement with U.S. public authorities, particularly in the areas of investment and financial markets.

Senior Advisor

Before representing Relians in the United States, Charles served for ten years as Senior Vice President at the Albright Stonebridge Group, a firm founded by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and National Security Advisor Sandy Berger. There, he was primarily responsible for regulatory affairs related to foreign investments, particularly from European and Russian companies.

Charles began his career as an assistant to the U.S. Under Secretary of State for European Affairs and later served as a department head within the Federal International Trade Administration. He has advised numerous U.S. companies and collaborated with major industry associations to facilitate their access to European and Eurasian markets.

He was one of the key architects of the agreements that eventually led to the Federal Trade Agreement between the European Union and the United States—especially the “Mutual Recognition Agreements” (MRAs). He led several of these negotiations, covering customs tariffs, environmental clauses, technical standards and regulations, and personal data transfer frameworks. Over the course of his career, he has played a central role in more than three rounds of international trade
